Number Portability [FCC]
I currently have ATT GSM, I’m thinking about switching to Verizon or Sprint. Consensus are that Verizon gets the best coverage, and Sprint coverage and customer service just sucks donkey. But then I’ve seen Sprint phones that work in-doors when my phone does not. I’m not that unhappy about my current service (unlike someone I know). so maybe I should just stay with ATT and try to get a new flip-phone out of them. Any opinions?

Yahoo! Attempts Guinness World Record for World’s Largest Group Yodel
I, along with 1,772 other friends and family of Yahoo! employees broke the world record yesterday for the largest group yodel. Yay~ It was all a marketting ploy, but it was fun nevertheless :) Besides, you don’t get many chance to take part in breaking a world record, no matter how silly it may be.
Also check out the 8 year old winner of Yahoo! Yodel Challenge, who was present at the event.
(Thanks to tsl for inviting me to this event! :)

South Korea plans to build a nationwide Internet access infrastructure capable of speeds between 50M bps (bits per second) and 100M bps by 2010, the online edition of the Chosun Ilbo daily newspaper reported Tuesday.
Wow, now old men can solicit sex from college students online even faster. :P

USATODAY.com - Scientists create a virus that reproduces
“When researchers created a synthetic genome (genetic map) of the virus and implanted it into a cell, the virus became “biologically active,” meaning it went to work reproducing itself.”
Pretty scary stuff…

When I stopped by my apartment for lunch today, I saw a package waiting for me. I had ordered something from Amazon earlier this week, so I automatically assumed that the item had arrived earlier than I’d expected. But when I opened the package, I was very pleasantly surprised to see “Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman!” nicely gift-wrapped, with a note that said:
“Min, I don’t know you, but I liked your Amazon reading list so much I thought I’d treat you to something on your wish list. I just finished this book and found it both entertaining and inspiring - Kurt”
I had been keeping my wishlist so that I can buy the items later. I would have never imagined a stranger, let alone anyone I knew, would buy something there for me! I must admit though, it felt REALLY good to receive a gift so unexpectedly. I couldn’t stop smiling :D
Thank you, Kurt V.E., of Dublin, OH, for your random kindness! :) And people, goto Amazon.com and build your wishlists! I or someone out there, might just browse on over there and buy you something.. ;)

Some random facts from Foggys Funnies!
Very disturbing… yet funny. I wonder though, how the heck they came up with these numbers? Hm…
(Thanks Lorraine!)

USATODAY.com - FCC cuts cord on phone numbers
“The FCC, in a 5-0 vote that had been expected, said that customers can transfer their home or business numbers to their wireless phone companies despite protests from local phone companies that fear the loss of millions of subscribers.”
Also, Cellular Number Portability is due to take effect in a few days.
