a9 yellow page

A9.com Yellow Page now gives you an image of the store for their Yellow Page searches in 10 major metropolitan areas in US! Not only you see the image of the store front, you can virtually “walk” up and down the street, and you can recommend which is the best picture for the store. You can see here how they did this (no shortcuts here.. one has to use brute-force method). Didn’t Google just buy a 3D mapping company of some sort? But I think this is much more useful in real life.

Napoleon Dynamite

If you haven’t seen ND, it’s one of the best and funniest movie of 2004. The ending is a bit preditable, but the characters are unforgettable.

Check out the Napoleon Dynamite Soundboard (Thanks Lorraine!) Napoleon sounds lot like my cousin’s kid.. hmmm.

Speed Stacks Home Page - The Leader in the Sport of Cup Stacking

I bet none of you has ever heard such thing existed. Yet, the website claims that 8,300 schools participate in the sport! This sounds like a big joke (like the Dodgeball movie), but you will be amazed when you watch this video! @@ and more!

Toxic Breast Milk

The New York Times Magazine has an interesting piece (free reg. req.) about levels of different toxins in mother’s breast milk. While breast milk are well known to have many positive effects on children (it fight off diabetes, cancer, E. coli, results in babies with higer IQ’s) it does contains many of toxins (DDT, PCB, dioxin, PBDE, … some of which are still widely used in household products) that mothers were exposed to for decades then passed on the babies in more concentrated form. The conclusion? Despite the alarming levels of toxins in it, breast milk is still “better” than the formula’s.

Comment disabled

Due to growing number of spams on comments, I’m disabling comments until I find a workable solution. Unfortunately mt-blacklist will not work on the host machine because of outdated perl :( scode seemed like a good idea, but I was not able to get it working correctly yet. *sigh*

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hi all! As some of you already know, I got back from my European vacation last week. My friend Kenny and I visited Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, and Switzerland for 2.5 weeks. It was great, except for the falling dollar *sigh* I will post some pictures from the vacation shortly… but first, a piece of news…

Most of people who visit this site probably knew this but… I am very excited to announce that this week will be my final week in my current job (of almost 5 years). Starting next week, I will be working for Yahoo! :) (Heh, I can cross that item out from my New Year resolutions.)
