Cameratoss

This pictures was taken by tossing the camera on air (camera set on timer, I suppose). There’s a blog and flickr group dedicated for this type of picture taking.

I wouldn’t wanna try this with an SLR…

Hummer Surplus

The Mess That Greenspan Made: Hummer Overfloweth

Sources can be unreliable, but the scuttlebutt was that inventory had been building for months now and the local Hummer dealer had panicked. He had begun storing his Hummer inventory at an undisclosed location, far from the dealer showroom so as not to spook jittery, prospective buyers with the mounting number of unsold H2s and H3s.

Check out the photos of 300-some Hummers in SoCal, waiting to be loved… LOL

I love the last paragraph:

The reason that the story of rapidly rising Hummer inventory is so interesting and so amusing, is that America’s most ostentatious Sport Utility Vehicle, the Hummer SUV, is a metaphor for America in the world today - overweight, overpriced, inefficient, and unloved.

Sad, but so true.

Cal Basketball

Cal Basketball

Originally uploaded by minmax.

Thanks to my buddy Kenny, I went to see Cal basketball in Berkeley last night. I’ve never watched a live basketball game, so it was quite an experience. It was a free-for-students night, so the pavilion was full of energetic kids… their cheers almost deafening. And even though someone sitting near us kept “cuttin’ cheese” (which nobody seemed to care), we had much fun nevertheless :-)

See other pictures from the game.

Yahoo! Q&A

Yahoo! Q&A beta launched today. It’s much like 지식검색 (”knowledge search”) popular in Yahoo! Korea and many other portals in asia. Google had something like this for long time too.

I found the answer to the question I’ve been wondering about: is my red is also your red?

Excellent!

Thinking about switching…

I’m thinking about hosting my blog on another site because that’s powered by wordpress with MySql backend, so it’s much faster and easier to manage…

Momo

Momo (by Michael Ende)

I borrowed this book from my sister Yono, on my recent trip to L.A. It’s a Korean translation, which I think made a come-back after appearing in a very popular romantic drama series 내 이름은 김삼순 :-)

Whenever I pick up this book, I can’t help but hum to myself this very old song 모모는 철부지 (Click to listen) I guess it was a theme song for a movie of the same title

I wasn’t much of a reader when I was young… but one book I remember reading was The Neverending Story, also by Michael Ende :-)

Is it better to work out in the morning or at night?

Is it better to work out in the morning or at night? | Outside Online

According to fitness coach Chris Carmichael (better known as Lance Armstrong’s trainer)

The best time to work out is the time that consistently fits into your schedule and enhances your day instead of disrupting it. There is no physiological benefit to working out at a particular time of day, so choose a time that you know you can stick with.

One tip if you do switch to morning workouts, though, is to eat a small, carbohydrate-rich snack as soon as you wake up. Overnight, your body uses up almost all the carbohydrate stored in your liver, and this is your brain’s primary source of blood sugar.
