This is a must-have extension for those who are using Firefox 3 and Mac OS 10.4 or higher.
On a related note, you can make Firefox 3 automatically delete all temporary files it downloaded to the Desktop (such as inline PDFs if you are not using above mentioned extension) by setting browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit configuration variable to “true” in about:config page. It also works for Thunderbird 2
